Uniki is the name used by the artist Wasu Sazile Kama, born in South Africa in Qwanduli, Eastern Cape in 1980.

Between the age of 3 and 18 years old Wasu lived in Zimbabwe. This is where he learnt wire art. His first wire art he made with his friend as a child, making their own toys out of wire by copying vintage cars from vintage car calendars. Wasu always stood out from his friends, experimenting with different materials. When he returned to South Africa 1999 he moved to Gugaletu in the Cape becoming one of the first few serious wire artists in the area.

Wasu has lives and works in Cape Town developing his original style of mixing wire with other recycle materials.
