Charles Simba Dangarembwa was born in Mutare on the border of Zimbabwe and Mozambique. He started making wire Art in his teens, making motorbikes to sell to tourists.

His first ostrich he made 9 years ago for a friend. It was a very simple ostrich, since then he has been perfecting his skill and design. Now no one can make wire ostriches as beautiful as his.

These ostriches have paid for Simba’s Labola (money traditionally paid to a wife’s family for her hand in marriage) and soon the ostriches will be paying for Simba’s wedding.

Simba aims to build himself a rural home in the countryside of Zimbabwe. So far he has bought a cow and he wants to buy 3 or 4 more so that he can settle down to a farm life and make art.
